Dear Woman of God
Life is hard.
I know this full well. I may not have reached half a century yet but this world has had a way of throwing the hardest blows over the years that I have lived. Don’t get me wrong, there have been many sweet moments on this journey but man, have there been moments in my walk where I have had the thought of giving up and throwing in the towel. It is much easier to walk the wide road mentioned in Matthew (7:13-14) and many do choose it. It is much harder to walk the narrow path and only a few find it. Why is the narrow path hard? Because on a narrow path you have to walk a certain way in order to keep On it. On a wide path journey, you can walk anyhow, talk anyhow, live anyhow and carry as much baggage as you’d like because you have a wide open space to do as you please. On the narrow path, you’ve got to be consciously aware of your steps and the path before you, in order to keep on route. On this path you have got to get rid of the baggage that you carry in order to not be thrown out of balance. On the narrow path, it sometimes feels like you are walking alone.
Life is hard. Sometimes you may wonder if God is even aware of it and how hard you are finding it. My child, He does. He is FULLY aware of not only the situation you are in, but how you are feeling and what you are thinking. It says in Psalm 56:8 that “He keeps track of all your sorrows, He has collected all your tears and has recorded each one in His book”. God is TOTALLY aware of the path that you take, He is fully aware of what you are going through. You are not unseen, You are not unheard.
God sees you and He hears you.
Though the narrow path is hard, I encourage you not to give up! Why? because the narrow path is TOTALLY worth it! I know its hard to see, think and feel that in the midst of hardship, but I encourage you to “Keep your eyes on Jesus, the one who started your faith and will complete it (Hebrews 12:2). Only Jesus can help you walk the trusted path, only He can help you make it to the end, so keep your eyes on Him. Keep meditating on His promises, keep voicing your hearts’ cries to Him, keep meeting up with your fellow Christian brothers and sisters, keep finding time on your bus rides, lunch breaks and morning wakes to stay connected to Him. Do not give up holding on to God and His promises on the narrow path for God promises that if you do, you will come forth as gold (Job 23:10).
The wide path, even though easy, will never be able to fill that longing in your soul or give you that peace that passes all understanding. You will always be thirsty, your mind and heart in chaos and you will forever be searching. The wide path leads to a dead end. The narrow path however, even though hard, will always lead to a well of Joy after the pain, peace that passes all understanding and a promise that ‘everything you go through will be worked out for Your good’. Even more, that path leads to Heaven! to be home with our Father God! This should encourage you not to give up! God promises to faithfully guide you on the journey, you will never be alone, “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” (Isaiah 30:21).
Praying for you all <3
