Ever feel like you’re stuck in rut? Like your numb? Like you’re dead inside? It’s so discouraging and debilitating isn’t it?
This is how I’ve been feeling lately. The numbness can be so overwhelming often leaving me gasping for air. It’s so suffocating.
However, in His goodness, God reminded me through Ephesians 2:1: I AM ALIVE!
HE HAS MADE ME ALIVE.
Even in this excruciating numbness and deadness I’m feeling inside –
I’m ALIVE STILL.
This “feeling” is only that a “feeling”. And like everything else in our Christian walk it has a purpose. A purpose that will ultimately glorify God. I might not see it through the unpleasantness of my situation right now, but there is purpose in all of this.
God ALWAYS has a purpose.
If we are willing to wait on Him, He will reveal His purpose in His time. And in the process will draw us closer to Him.
Majority of the time we don’t understand the “why” we feel the way we do or the “why” we must go through this. But I can trust the God who defines the “why”. He has not let me down before, and I bet your bottom dollar, He will not let me down now.
Nor will He you.
One day, when this passes, we will confidently look back say with the Psalmist – ‘in His presence is the fullness of joy’ (Ps 16:11). Even when we felt nothing but numbness, His presence was there and yes there was joy although we didn’t feel it.
And in that day we will finally understand His ‘why’ and will praise Him evermore.
Trust His ways and walk in faith not your feelings.
