We all have our demons, skeletons in the closet, and baggage. These things haunt us and makes us feel unworthy and unacceptable to be used by God. But, guess what? – God’s grace DOESN’T CARE!
When Moses asked God “Who am I?” (Ex. 3:11). God answered – “I WILL certainly be with you” (3:12 – emphasis added). I believe the root cause of Moses’ question was his horizontal perspective of his circumstances. He is a fugitive; he is a murderer; he is inarticulate; and he is hated by both the Egyptians and the Israelites. So, why would God want to use him?!
The answer is……because God’s grace can. It’s that simple.
I love how God answered Moses in verse 12. Instead of telling Moses WHY he was chosen to deliver Israel, God pointed to HIMSELF and said, “I WILL certainly be with you.”God was telling Moses, it’s not you, Moses, who will do the work – It is I. The “I AM WHO I AM” (v.14) that will equip you and fulfill my work through you. All Moses needed to do was just say yes.
God’s grace alone is our qualifying factor. We will always feel unprepared, under-qualified, even fearful of God’s calling in our lives. But, say “YES” anyway and watch the wonders that God will do.
Rest assure that as God was with Moses; God will be with us. He walks before us and behind us. He establishes our every step. He knows our beginning and He knows our end and everything in between. For Psalm 139: 16 says “Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.”
